Zesty.io and Salesforce Commerce Cloud Integration
This is an exciting announcement for brands of every size using Salesforce Commerce Cloud. With content powered by Zesty.io, marketers are able to better streamline their product content and deliver better experiences to consumers on any device. Developers can build this integration in less than 20 minutes and allocate their time toward building experiences rather than porting over content. And, of course, executives are excited that this integration helps all teams save time, budget, and resources to better focus on business-driving initiatives.
What is Salesforce Commerce Cloud?
Formerly known as Demandware, Salesforce Commerce Cloud is a SaaS commerce platform for unifying the way businesses engage with customers over any channel or device. SFCC can be used for both B2B and B2C applications. It's a powerful commerce engine used by brands such as Coca Cola, Petsmart, Puma, Lacoste, and more.
What are the Benefits of Headless Ecommerce?
Using Zesty.io to manage content in your ecommerce platform provides numerous benefits. Brands are able to fully customize their ecommerce site and personalize options, provide their developers with more flexibility (while saving time, budget, and resources), allow marketing teams to expand their content efforts past just the ecommerce site, and increase speed to market.
Using a SaaS ecommerce platform alongside a headless CMS also ensures PCI compliance, checkout security and fraud protection, and open architecture & extensibility, without demanding more time from your development team.
How to Integrate Salesforce Commerce Cloud with a Headless CMS
1. Build out the content experience.
2. Start the XML.
Next, set up a custom XML endpoint within your Zesty.io instance. To learn how, check out this documentation.
3. Build out content models.
You're probably thinking, "well, at some point, I have to update your XML with dynamic content calls." Exactly right! But first, we need to build out the content models that will populate in the XML. This can easily be done in Zesty.io, and if you need help, check out this documentation.
4. Update the XML with Parsley.
Now it's time to update your XML with Parsley, our templating language that allows for dynamic content calls. Here, you'll replace the brackets from the XML feed from the tutorial listed in Step 2 by calling in your content using Parsley.
5. Import into Commerce Cloud.
Finally, import all of your hard work into Commerce Cloud! Prompt your account to crawl the Zesty.io XML endpoint from your instance. You will want to copy the endpoint URL and paste it into the content import field in Commerce Cloud and submit.
