In the coming weeks, Zesty.io is releasing a set of user experience improvements to Content, Media, Schema, Search, and Global Navigation, all driven by the feedback we've heard from our users. This article provides a walkthrough of these improvements, aimed at elevating your interaction with our platform. 

Content App Improvements

Visual and Functional Upgrades

The improved Content App now incorporates our Material Design Language, featuring a dark collapsible and resizable sidebar and a grey muted background color to create a more calm environment with heightened contrast. This visual upgrade applied across Zesty.io applications including Schema, Media, Reports, and Settings, is focused on creating a cohesive and distraction-free environment that enhances consistency and allows users to focus better. 

Edit Content Title Bar Improvements - Breadcrumb Navigation, Clear Title Display, Streamlined Publishing and More

Users can enjoy much-requested improvements that have been added to the Title Bar to make navigation and content management more intuitive and clear. Below, we detail the key improvements made to the Title Bar.

1. Breadcrumb Navigation allows you to trace your path and easily understand the parent-child relationships of your content so you can navigate faster and more intuitively.
2. The Content Item Name is now visible in the Title Bar which adds more clarity and eliminates confusion about what content item is being edited.
3. Duplicate Content Item functionality has been added to save your time in content replication.
4. Save and Publish button allows you to save and publish with a single click as opposed to multiple steps previously.

DUO Mode Improvements for Optimized Preview

DUO Mode has been upgraded to offer a more streamlined content preview experience within Zesty.io. Our improvements allow you to preview all your content changes without the need to publish. Below, we detail the key improvements made to DUO Mode.

1. Preview your page in desktop resolution by default so that you get the big picture immediately
2. See and copy your stage Preview URL to share with your team
3. Open DUO Mode in a new tab so that you can toggle between your content editing and previewing workflows
4. Toggle between different mobile and tablet device resolutions to see how your content looks across all devices types 

Collapsable Sidebars To Help You Focus

To facilitate a better and more focused creative environment we have added the ability to collapse both sidebars while editing content. 

Media Field Improvements for Advanced File Management and Visibility

Below we detail the multiple improvements added to the Media Field based on your valuable feedback as listed below.

1. Reorder Files in a media field with our drag and drop interface.
2. File names and alt-text are now visible in the file card to provide you with more context on the details of the file you have selected.
3. Preview and edit files directly from the Media Field.
4. Replace a file with one click to keep your content up to date.
5. Files can be renamed and their ZUIDs and URLs can be copied from the more menu.
6. Drag and drop files to upload and add them to a media field.

Intuitive Formatting with the WYSIWYG Toolbar Improvements

The WYSIWYG toolbar has been revamped with a floating toolbar for quick text formatting and a reorganized toolbar layout to provide for a more intuitive user experience.

WYSIWYG Slash Command Streamlines Content Writing

To increase speed and efficiency in writing content in the Zesty.io WYSIWYG editor, we are introducing a Slash Command Menu. With this enhancement, a simple slash command prompt (typing a “/”) opens a menu that allows you to insert Headings, Lists, Tables, AI generated content, and more. 

WYSIWYG Full Screen Mode Optimized for Readability

The full-screen mode of WYSIWYG now features a constrained text content width, making it easier for users to read and edit content.

SEO Tab Improvements

We've added multiple improvements to the SEO experience. Our new improvements have been designed to let you easily manage your site's SEO and use AI to assist with your SEO goals. Below, we detail the key enhancements made to our SEO Tools.

1. AI Assistant generates Meta Titles and Descriptions based on your content and SEO best practices.
2. Get Keyword Recommendations for your Meta Title and Description based on your top-occurring words in your content.
3. Custom Open Graph Meta Images that get shared in your site's link previews can be set by you.
4. Social media previews for Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google will allow you to visualize exactly how your links will preview on these platforms. 

API Tab Improvements

The API tab experience in Schema has been also now been made available in Content so that you can find information about how to connect your content to your website. 

Create Title Bar Improvements - Bread Crumbs, Publish, and Schedule

Multiple user requested improvements have been added to the tile bar: 

1. Breadcrumb Navigation that allows you to trace your path and understand the parent-child relationships of the content you are creating
2. Ability to Publish the Content Item or schedule it for publish immediately after creation
3. Create and Add New Button that allows you to quickly create your current item and immediately begin the process of creating another new item

Google Analytics 4 Integration in Content Dashboard 

The Content Dashboard that loads on opening the Content App is now powered by our Google Analytics 4 integration. The dashboard now allows you to gain insights about:

1. Sessions, Users, Bounce Rate, Events, and Conversions
2. Most Popular Pages
3. Latest Publishes
4. Pages with the most increase and most decreases in traffic
5. Recently edited content

Single Page Analytics Tab

We have added a dedicated analytics tab called "Single Page Analytics" that allows you to gain the following insights for a single content item: 

1. Sessions by Day
2. Avg. Duration by Day
3. Bounce Rate by Day
4. Conversions by Day
5. Users by Source, Country, and Day

Schema App Improvements

We have made multiple improvements based on your feedback to the Schema App, following our introduction of its new user experience earlier this year. Below, we detail the key enhancements made to our Schema App.

1. Collapsable and resizable dark app sidebar makes it easier to focus on the models you are updating.
2. Breadcrumb Navigation in the title bar allows you to trace your path and understand the parent-child relationships of your models.
3. Adding and updating a model's parent can now be done via the right sidebar itself.
4. 'More' menu button with options to duplicate and delete a model now uses an intuitive "more" icon instead of the "chevron" icon used earlier.
5. Required Fields are now marked with an "*" at the end of the field label.

Media App Improvements

The Media App improvements have been designed to enhance file management and folder navigation within Media. Below, we detail the key enhancements made to our Media App.

1. Collapsable and resizable dark app sidebar that makes it easier to focus on the models you are updating.
2. Instance Root Folder is now easily accessible in the sidebar.
3. Breadcrumb Navigation has been introduced into the Title Bar that allows you to trace your path and understand the parent-child relationships of your folders in Media. 

Navigate between files using arrow keys

You can now navigate between multiple files in a folder with the arrow keys on your keyboard or using the arrows on either side of the file preview modal. 

Improved Upload Experience

A progress spinner has been added to the title bar that helps provide you with more transparency on the status of files being uploaded. 

Search Improvements

Improved Search Dropdown

We've added multiple improvements to the search dropdown based on your feedback. These include: 

1. Now search for models, media files, code files, and code snippets in addition to content items 
2. Recent Search Suggestions that help you quickly navigate to what you last search for
3. Quick filters that allow you to filter your search to a specific app

Advanced Search to search by specific filters 

With advanced search you can now search for your query with filters for created by, resource type, date, and language.

Dedicated Search Results Page

Based on your feedback we have added a dedicated search results page where you can:

1. Scroll through all search results
2. Sort search results by recently modified, recently created, A to Z, and Z to A
3. Filter search results by resource type, date modified, created by, and language

Global Navigation Improvements

View the Instance Menu from the Instance Favicon

A single click on the instance favicon in the navigation bar will now open your instance menu. From here you can:

1. Switch Instances
2. Update your Instance Favicon
3. Preview your site
4. Access instance configuration options such as users, teams, domains, usage, locales, APIs, and Webhooks, which give you more control over your instance.

Improved User Menu 

As part of our effort to streamline navigation and create more real estate for tabs, we have shifted the user menu to the left global navigation menu. From here you can access: 

1. Your Profile Page
2. Change your password
3. Preferences
4. All Your Instances
5. Zesty Support

Access Docs from anywhere in your Instance

We have improved our docs menu to make it faster for you to learn about our APIs and platform features. Along with the dedicated API tiles we have also added quick links to the docs that are most relevant to the application you are in.

Preview your Site in Stage vs Production with the Domains Menu

We have added a dedicated domains menu that allows you to preview how your site looks in stage vs production. This menu is really useful when you want to see how your edits look before publishing, and can be triggered by clicking on the globe icon button in the top right corner. 

Add Users from within your Instance

You can now add multiple users to your instance by clicking on the add users button at the bottom of the left navigation bar and entering the emails of whoever you wish to invite to your instance.
